I am an Anglican Priest as well as a veteran having been in the U.S.Navy. These days, the Veterans Administration (VA) is cutting services for our veterans. I personally find this unacceptable and have formed the non-profit named St. Michael's Veteran's Support Center. I chose St. Michael the Archangel s he is known as the protector and I could not think of a better name for an organization born to support and protect our Heroes that have made sacrifices and even the ultimate sacrifice. So, with this in mind St. Michael's will be for veterans and also some support for veteran's families. There are services that the VA feel they cannot provide especially in the area of Mental Health. I feel that they are just setting the vet adrift to fend for themselves until some decide it isn't worth it and take their own lives. Then they wonder why the veteran suicide rates continue to rise.
I ask everyone of you visiting this site to think about what is has meant to have the freedoms we enjoy each and every day. I wish every person in the USA might someday read the ever changing content of this site. After then to consider donating to such a worthy cause. Please, really think about what your freedoms mean to you and your family and please donate to St. Michael's Veteran's Support Center. It is starting in Colorado Springs, Colorado but will hopefully come to a city near you.
